Acting Teacher

"Welcome to acting at the Dillman Music and Acting Studio! Acting and the performing arts have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I am so excited to bring my knowledge of stage and film to other aspiring performers. I can't wait to work with all of you!"

Rae-Ann began a professional acting career in film and television at the age of 17!

From a young age, she has been involved in theatre, music and performing arts in Medicine Hat. She studied speech arts and drama through the Royal Conservatory of Music and in 2002 was chosen as the Rose Bowl participant for speech arts in the Medicine Hat Rotary Music Festival.

Her passion for acting and performing took her to Vancouver in 2003 when she signed on with The Characters Talent Agency. She has had the pleasure of working on several feature films and television projects, including commercials for DANONE Activia Yogurt and Mattel’s board game Scene It! She has studied under several of the industry’s leading coaches, casting directors and directors and practiced different techniques, most commonly inspired by the great Sanford Meisner and Konstantin Stanislavsky. One of Rae-Ann’s most memorable moments is working with Canadian actors Graham Greene and Dave Thomas on A Beachcombers Christmas in 2004.

In 2007 Rae-Ann returned to Medicine Hat to raise her son, while still working and auditioning for film and television projects out of Calgary and Vancouver. Rae-Ann has participated both on stage and behind the scenes of several local theatre productions including working as the co-producer/costume designer for the Hometown Acting Studio’s presentation of Rent in January 2011, and appearing as Babette, the feather duster in Firehall Theatre’s presentation of Beauty and the Beast. Currently, Rae-Ann is working to complete her ARTC through the Royal Conservatory in Toronto.

Group lessons are one of the best ways for young children to learn because they are not only learning from the teacher, but also from each other.

Music for Young Children

"I would teach children music, physics and philosophy; but most importantly music, for all the patterns in music and all the arts are the key to learning."
- Plato

"Acting is not about being someone different. It's finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there."
- Meryl Streep
